The Connecticut Republican Party is looking for data, finance, and operations interns to join our Southington based team throughout the Fall of 2019. All interns will work closely with the Connecticut Republican Party Chairman and staff, elected officials, party members, and the general public. This unpaid internship has an expected start date of September 9, 2019 and anticipated end date of December 6, 2019.
Specific responsibilities are defined by the focus of the internship:
Data interns will utilize a variety of techniques to interpret results, identify voters, work on opposition research, and assist with analysis for municipal elections. Responsibilities include: managing petition drives throughout the state; interpret data lists and identify new allies of the party; create opposition research files for targeted races. Finance Interns will handle a wide variety of important duties related to fundraising to meet the needs of our office and win elections. Responsibilities include: work with the Finance Team on yearly forecasting efforts; manage the monthly tracking of fundraising campaigns; support the payment processing team; data entry; donor prospecting; attend regular Finance Team meetings; make and receive phone calls about donations; and other general office duties as needed. Operations interns will contribute to the overall office’s logistics, event management and preparation, and inter-office communication. Responsibilities include: communications assistance, research, hands-on planning of the Prescott Bush Dinner, scheduling smaller events, long-term planning, and office management. Hours and focus of work are flexible to most schedules and free parking is included in our adjacent lot. Connecticut’s municipalities are overwhelmingly Republican and this work will help support candidates for municipal office throughout the state.
