Our annual Ice Cream Social is a midsummer get together and small fundraiser. All are welcome including candidates wishing to introduce themselves. The cost is $25 for adults, $15 for 13-17 year olds and free for children 12 and under that are related to paying attendees.
An Evening with Mike France will be held in Somers tomorrow, Wednesday August 7th at 6:30 PM at Joanna's Restaurant, 145 Main Street in Somers. The regular event will include appetizers and pizza and begin at 6:30 PM. The VIP dinner with Mike begins at 5:00 PM for those who purchase the VIP tickets. Saturday, August 10, 2024 is the 73rd Annual Winchester Grange Fair. 9 AM - 3 PM, Winchester Grange Hall, 100 Newfield Road, Winchester Center, CT. Contests are the spotlight for this year. Is your banana bread the talk of the town? Did your garden produce that perfect tomato or squash? There is plenty of time to enter an exhibit at the Fair. Flowers, baking, and fruit and vegetable exhibits will be accepted until 11:00 AM the morning of the fair.
There is a large variety of great food tents throughout the fairgrounds from our famous roast beef sandwiches, slowed cooked chicken, fresh buttery corn, tacos, ice cream, fried dough, BBQ, fried Oreos and many more. All of the food at the Bridgewater Fair is prepared and cooked by our volunteer fireman and EMS members. The Bridgewater Fair is the main source of income for the BVFD. We are the last self-sustaining Fire Department in the State of Connecticut
This family-friendly fair showcases many agricultural fair traditions while highlighting top local music talent and entertainment. Since 1937 the Hartford County 4-H Fair has been a youth run fair that features many attractions. The 4-H’ers work all year long to plan the fair and prepare their projects to showcase at the fair every year in August. Throughout the weekend there will be livestock shows, children’s activities, and entertainment. Join us for three full days of fun for the whole family!

Saturday is VIP Day from 2-4 PM, which will feature Anne Dauphinais, Doug Dubitsky, Chris Reddy, Matt Corey, and Mike France. The Brooklyn Fair is an annual agricultural fair, sponsored by the Windham County Agricultural Society. The first fair was held in 1809 in Pomfret, CT. The fair was a success and it was held on a rotating basis between the towns of Brooklyn, Pomfret, and Woodstock. The Cannon Grange Agricultural Fair has been a source of pride to the Cannon Grange and its Cannondale neighbors for many years. On the grounds of, and inside, our historic Grange Hall you will see beautiful displays of horticulture, hand-crafts, small farm animals, photography, eggs, selected concessionaires and much more. Planning and running the fair each year is done by a committee of Grange members and friends.
Connecticut's largest agricultural fair, and also one of the oldest, the Woodstock Fair is a four day fair held in South Woodstock, CT. "Always Labor Day Weekend" is our motto and our fair opens at noon the Friday before Labor Day and runs through Labor Day Monday closing at 8pm.
