Under Biden/Hayes, the Border Crisis Does Not Exist

Illegal family crossings of our Southern border hit an all-time high in August, with 91,000 illegal immigrants arrested. Since Biden took office, 7.2 million illegal immigrants have crossed our border, including 1.4 million who have evaded border patrol and entered our country. While the American people lose, Mexican cartels win, as they are now making $13 billion annually smuggling illegals into the United States. The border crisis is very real, yet Democrat officials refuse to act, let alone acknowledge the crisis exists.

White House Press Secretary has continued the Biden administration’s approach in denying reality, claiming that Biden has “done more than anybody” to secure the border. Even with pressure from blue states like New York to deal with the crisis, Democrats in D.C. are silent. And Connecticut’s own Representative Jahana Hayes (CT-05) is following the lead of her party bosses.

Hayes voted against H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, this year. The bill, passed by House Republicans, sought to “combat illegal immigration by ending catch and release, strengthening and streamlining the asylum process, and strengthening current law to protect unaccompanied children from human trafficking.”

“Thanks to Jahana Hayes and Joe Biden, every state is a border state. Fentanyl and crime are flooding in and endangering Connecticut families because of Jahana Hayes’s lock step support for Biden’s extreme open borders regime,” said NRCC Spokeswoman Savannah Viar.
