Bidenflation Devastating Connecticut Households

An annual salary of $100,000 used to be a lot of money. But according to a new study from SmartAsset, $100,000 in New York City has a purchasing power of just $30,914. In other major cities, including Boston and Washington, D.C., the purchasing power of $100K is below $50,000. All across our country, Americans are realizing that the value of the dollar is shrinking.    Connecticut is no exception. In fact, Congressional Republicans’ State Inflation Tracker found that Connecticut households were forced to spend between $700-$800 more per month in 2022 compared to January 2021 price levels.    Unrelenting inflation

Chris Murphy Embarks on Faux Outrage Tour Over Failed Border Bill

In a February 13th tweet on the social media platform X, Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) announced that he was going on an “outrage tour” over the failed border & foreign funding bill. See the rest of his tweet below.     Chris Murphy is “furious” that Republicans refused to pass an ineffective bill that he admitted allows up to 5,000 illegal immigrants to enter the country each day and does NOT close the border.   We know that Chris Murphy’s priority is not securing the border. In fact, during an interview with MSNBC, he proclaimed that the people the Democratic

Chairman Ben Proto Urges Swift Investigation into Greenwich Democrat Trevor Crow

(Middletown, CT)  In light of Democrat Trevor Crow’s stunning admission regarding her failed 2022 campaign at a Greenwich Democratic Town Committee Meeting on Wednesday, January 17th, Connecticut Republican Chairman Ben Proto today called on the State Elections Enforcement Commission (SEEC) to swiftly investigate these admissions and impose appropriate punishment.   “Trevor Crow has admitted in an open forum that she willfully violated Connecticut’s clean campaign finance laws by raising additional funds to spend on her race while using the state grant,” said  Proto. “This admission should immediately trigger the SEEC to launch an investigation and hold her accountable prior to her

Look Out! CT Democrats Still Pursuing Gas Car Ban…

In late November of 2023, just four months after unveiling his plan to adopt California’s radical electric vehicle mandate, Ned Lamont was forced to withdraw it after bipartisan opposition led by Connecticut Republicans. But with the new year upon us, Connecticut Democrats are pushing forward with their plan to ban gas cars.   CT Mirror reports that Speaker of the House Matt Ritter, D-Hartford, said the state legislature would look to pass a new bill during the 2024 legislative session, which begins on February 7th.   Ritter also discussed the possibility of Connecticut adopting EV mandates out of New Mexico and Colorado. He seems to believe that these

VOTERS, NOT JUDGES, SHOULD DECIDE WHO WILL REPRESENT THEM

The Colorado Supreme Court decision to exclude Donald Trump from the ballot is not only un-American but violates the very core principles of our Representative Democracy   (Middletown, CT) Chairman of the Connecticut Republican Party, Ben Proto issued the following statement in response to the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to exclude Donald Trump from the Colorado primary and general election ballot:   “This decision is a direct assault on and to our Constitution and removes the most fundamental right we, as Americans, have – our right to vote and to determine who will represent us in government.”   “The Colorado

Jahana Hayes Funded by Anti-Israel Democrats

There is a rising tide of antisemitism within the Democratic Party, led by the “Squad” in Congress. Fox News recently released a report, “Jayapal, other Dems with controversial Israel positions shower fellow Dems with campaign cash.”   The report details the campaign finance records of anti-Israel Democrats and groups. It’s no surprise that Rep. Jahana Hayes (CT-05) is named as one of the representatives who took between $1,000 and $21,000 from the anti-Israel group in recent years.   Jahana Hayes accepted $19,300 from these anti-Israel Democrats:  Chuy Garcia For Congress: $1,000 in 2022 cycle Power Of Us PAC (Pressley): $2,000 in 2022 cycle

Jahana Hayes Votes Against Israel

Yesterday, November 2nd, the Republican-led House of Representatives approved a military aid package for Israel in its war with the terrorist group Hamas. Instead of standing with one of America’s strongest allies, Jahana Hayes chose to follow far-left Democrats and vote against the bill.    In voting against the bill, Hayes also endorsed the rampant antisemitism within her party and her “Squad.” Let’s recap:   Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) called for an end to U.S. aid to Israel. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) called Israel a “racist state.” Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) responded to the Hamas terror attack by lamenting “Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day” and criticizing U.S. military assistance

Chairman Ben Proto in the CTPost: CT must reform its election system

Last week, surveillance footage seemed to confirm what folks in Connecticut have known for years: Elections in our cities are broken, and we need to take serious action to re-establish election integrity in Connecticut.   As an attorney and chairman of the Connecticut Republican Party, I have heard from voters and stakeholders — including many Democrats — who are very concerned at how bad Connecticut’s election integrity has become. They want to know what our elected officials are doing to fix this broken system. The recent news out of Bridgeport is a stark and disappointing confirmation of an open secret many of
